European Commission remain silent on human rights in Bahrain — — -Brussels (Brussels Morning) Ever since the meeting between EU High Representative Josep Borrell and Bahrain Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani in February, the European Commission has remained largely silent on MEPs’ concerns about human rights developments in the Persian Gulf kingdom.
The last time Borrell answered a parliamentary question on the state of human rights in Bahrain was on 3 February this year, a week before he met with Al Zayani.
