Estimated inflation in Germany highest in decades — — -Brussels (Brussels Morning) According to preliminary records of the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) released on Monday, annual inflation rate reached 3.9% this month.
Destatis pointed out that the last time inflation was higher was at the end of 1993, when it stood at 4.3%, according to DW reporting on Monday.
Consumer prices in Germany have been rising for months due to tapering of temporary reduction of value-added tax (VAT) and growing prices of food and energy.
